SurvivalTech Mod.01 Mark II

Mod.01 Mark II is an outdoor survival knife, which has been created by Paweł „Super” Supernat’s original design.

A knife designer who is a practitioner in the craft for over twenty years, having served in scouting for over a dozen years from a private scout to an educator and instructor, he served in the 1st Special Regiment of Commandos, done dozens of camps, maneuvers, mountain expeditions, he is a co-creator of the Scouting Survival Club, Shooting Unit 2028, he is an initiator and participant of the "March of Truth" in the Krakow Częstochowa Jurassic.
For the last 7 years, he has been a representative of several US knife companies and the world's leading producers of tactical equipment. In that time, during his various activities, he most probably used all the knives available on the market, starting from the cheapest ones, through almost all the products of recognized manufacturers, to "custom" ones. He worked for one of the largest Polish companies in the military survival industry, taking an active part in
tests of most products, including knives and tactical equipment.

Based on his many years of experience he created Mod.01 Mark II knife. Mod.01 was designed as a universal knife for all outdoor activities you can imagine. The shape, ergonomics, and materials are selected in such a way that the knife is
suitable for practically everything.

It can be used as:
- Basic survival knife
- tactical knife
- rescue knife
- scout knife
- hunting knife
- off road knife.

It sounds like marketing gibberish, but we'll try to present it in detail to prove that it’s not! The knife is made entirely by hand in Poland by the renowned knifemaker Radosla Legowik from Libra Knife Works (LKW).

The size and weight of the knife have been designed so that it can be carried freely, both on the belt, tactical vest and on the neck for example. However, the knife is so big that you can easily "baton" with it, or even chop, but at the same time so small that it does not interfere with the daily movement on the trail.

The head has the most optimal drop point shape, with a slightly falling tip. It is made of Bohler K720 tool steel, which is currently one of the best outdoor steels. The knife is very resistant to any pressure that may occur, e.g. during undermining. It will work well in cutting, digging, food preparation, woodworking, and fighting, without losing its capabilities in delicate and precise work.

Scandinavian (Scandi) grinding was used, which is characterized by excellent durability. The 3,4 mm (0.1339") thick head is relatively lightweight, extremely strong compared to similar models with classic (partial or full) grinds. The Scandi grind also provides the strength of the cutting edge and tip, guaranteeing long focus while ensuring trouble-free sharpening with virtually any whetstone in all conditions.

The knife is equipped with a small crossguard with a hole, which also distinguishes it from typical bushcraft or survival constructions. Our knife can be used at night, in winter and underwater without worrying that a wet or tired hand will slip off the handle. The hole in the crossguard can be used to create an additional guard by pulling the parachute cord through it and the rear hole in the handle. In an emergency, it can be used as an additional point to attach the knife to the spear handle. There is a special undercut on the back of the head, which is used to ignite sparks from flints. The undercut is placed in such a place that it can also be used as a "ramp" for the thumb during precision work.

Scales of the handle are made of a special sandblasted Micarta, which is a very durable laminate, reinforced with cotton fabric, providing great mechanical, thermal and chemical strength (resistance to oil, for example), not absorbing water.

The knife has a Full-Tang construction and is made of one piece of steel -this means that a steel tang of the same thickness as the head to which the handle scales are attached passes through the handle. If the scales are damaged, the knife does not lose any of its usefulness and durability! You can then wrap the tang around a string or even a piece of clothing to form an emergency handle. The tang of the knife was deliberately pulled out by almost one centimeter behind the scales of the handle. It can be used as a glass breaker, an amphibian for undermining and an element with which, in extreme situations, we can hit practically any object without worrying about destroying the handle covers. It is a substitute for a survival hammer.

The scabbard is handmade in LKW workshop. Each is formed from Kydex on the knife and is assigned to it. It provides several possibilities of transporting the knife -as a standard on the belt in the lowered original system, alternatively mounting the Teklok clasp, MALICE clips or BladeTECH clips to the holes on the edge of the scabbard.

The set includes an element lowering the assembly of the knife with a nylon strap, thanks to which the knife can be carried on the belt muchmore comfortable than in the case of classic solutions. The nylon strap is detachable and allows you to mount the knife on the belt without unfastening it.

The scabbard itself protects the knife against any mechanical damage and is so profiled that the knife does not need any additional protection against spontaneous falling out. After all, it's a processing knife -it can't fall out while you're flipping the goats down the slope.

My name is Radosław Łęgowik. I’ve been making knives since 2007. With time my passion turned into my work. I make the knives based on my own designs, which makes them fully usable and unique tools. I conduct the process of hardening and heat treating by myself, which guarantees the highest quality and lasting power of my blades in various fields of use such as hunting, bushcraft, survival.

I use only high quality materials such as steel from the ironwork N690/K110 (D2) and high carbon steel NMV (O2). On the knife handles I most frequently use G10 laminate and micarts, which guarantee full waterproof and a long lasting effect. I make scabbards myself from KYDEX material. Leather scabbards are also available.

I have categorized my products into two sections.

Tactic knives, for those who favor modern shapes, blade’s detail work and utilitarian and military stylistics. They are made from stainless steel N690 and from the tool steel D2.

Survival knives, fully usable blades, which work in the field. The O2 steel assures the perfect cutting properties, which are seamlessly connected with the ability to sharpen them even in difficult conditions.
