With true pride, we present the unique Dragonfly knife from the series "Women as Forces of Nature" - Dragonfly 1 of 4 "Women as Forces of Nature: Air." This is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, created by the masters at Herman Knives, featuring exquisite engraving by the phenomenal Monika Kalla. This series of knives pays tribute to the power and grace of femininity, showcasing the metaphorical connection to the elements of nature: Fire, Water, Earth, and Air.

The engraving, which is the heart of this exceptional knife, is a sophisticated composition depicting women as elements of nature - strong, protective witches and Slavic women feared by the Inquisition. Inspired by the four classical elements and the dark past when women of intellect and nature were brutally repressed by the Inquisition, Monika Kalla created a piece that showcases the diverse talents and dynamic roles of women in society. On this particular knife, symbolizing the element of air, women are depicted as beings full of freedom and independence, capable of rising above all constraints. The engraving of birds, subtly woven into the main motif, completes the whole, symbolizing movement, change, and the pursuit of equality and rights.

Model "Air" is also a symbol of intellect and communication. Like air, women excel in communication and intellectual pursuits. The engraving reflects the foresight and wisdom that women bring to leadership and decision-making roles. Every detail of the engraving is perfectly crafted, creating a unique piece of art that combines advanced technology and traditional craftsmanship.

This Dragonfly is a knife that not only impresses with its aesthetics but also with its functionality. The blade, made of stainless Damasteel powder Damascus steel in the Hugin™ pattern, with a thickness of 4.0 mm and a hardness of 61 HRC, guarantees exceptional sharpness and durability. The mirror-polished finish adds elegance, making it a tool as beautiful as it is practical.

The handle, backspacer, and clip are made of grade 5 titanium, adorned with precise engraving with 24-carat gold accents. These details emphasize the luxurious character of the knife, making it a perfect addition to any collection. The ergonomic shape of the handle provides comfort and a secure grip, ideal for those with larger hands.

Dragonfly 1 of 4 "Women as Forces of Nature: Air" is not just a knife – it is a work of art that combines functionality with unique design and a profound message.

Monika Kalla:

The metaphor of women as forces of nature is both powerful and evocative, capturing the diverse and dynamic roles they play in society. By comparing women to the four classical elements - fire, water, earth, and air - we can explore the many dimensions of their strength, resilience, and transformative power. By appreciating these qualities, we can better recognize and support the vital roles women play in shaping our world.
