The RAVEN 1 axe is made of 51CrV4 AISI 6150 spring steel, which is not afraid of hard work. Selective hardening to 55-56 HRC gives adequate blade toughness. The full tang and thick steel provide a huge power reserve of the axe. The cerakote coating protects the steel against corrosion.
