SurvivalTech Mod.01

Mod.01 is an outdoor survival knife, which has been created on the basis of Paweł
„Super” Supernat’s original design A knife designer who is a practitioner in the
craft for over twenty years, having served in scouting for over a dozen years from a
private scout to an educator and instructor, he served in the 1st Special Regiment of
Commandos, done dozens of camps, maneuvers, mountain expeditions, he is a co
c reator of the Scouting Survival Club, Shooting Unit 2028, he is an initiator and
participant of the "March of Truth" in the Krakow Częstochowa Jurassic.
For the last 7 years, he has been a representative of several American knife
companies and the world's leading producers of tactical equipment.
In that time, during his various activities, he most probably used all the knives
available on the market, starting from the cheapest ones, through almost all the
products of recognized manufacturers, to "custom" ones. He worked for one of the
largest Polish companies in the military survival industry, taking an active part in
tests of most products, including knives and tactical equipment.

Based on his many years of experience he created Mod.01 knife.
Mod.01 w as designed as a universal knife for all outdoor activities you can imagine.
The shape, ergonomics, and materials are selected in such a way that the knife is
suitable for practically everything.

It can be used as:
- Basic survival knife
- tactical kni fe
- rescue knife
- scout knife
- hunting knife
- off road knife.
It sounds like marketing gibberish, but we'll try to present it in detail to prove that
it’s not! The knife is made entirely by hand in Poland by the renowned artist Mariusz
"Tlim" Przybyłowski.

The size and weight of the knife have been designed so that it can be carried freely,
both on the belt, tactical vest and on the neck for example. However, the knife is so
big that you can easily "baton" with it, or even chop, but at the same time so small
that it does not interfere with the daily movement on the trail.
The head has the most optimal drop point shape, with a slightly falling tip. It is
made of 80CrV2 tool steel, which is currently one of the best outdoor steels. The
knife is v ery resistant to any pressure that may occur, e.g. during undermining. It will
work well in cutting, digging, food preparation, woodworking, and fighting, without losing its capabilities in delicate and precise work.

Scandinavian (Scandi) sanding was used, which is characterized by excellent durability. The 3.5 mm thick head is relatively lightweight, yet extremely strong compared to similar models with classic (partial or full) cuts. The Scandi sanding also provides the strength of the cutting edge and tip, guaranteeing long focus while ensuring trouble-free sharpening with virtually any whetstone in all conditions. The knife is equipped with a small, round dace with a hole, which also distinguishes it from typical bushcraft or survival constructions. Ourknife can be used at night, in winter and underwater without worrying that a wet or tired hand will slip off the headstock. The hole in the dace can be used to create an additional guard by pulling the parachute cord through it and the rear hole in the handle. In an emergency, it can be used as an additional point to attach the knife to the tree. There is a special undercut on the back of the head, which is used to ignite sparks from flints. The undercut is placed in such a place that it can also be used as a "ramp" for the thumb during precision work.

Covers of the handle are made of a special sandblasted Micarta plastic, which is a very durable laminate, reinforced with cotton fabric, providing great mechanical, thermal and chemical strength (resistance to oil, for example), not absorbing water.

The knife has a Full-Tang construction and is made of one piece of steel -this means that a steel mandrel of the same thickness as the head to which the handle covers are attached passes through the handle. If the covers are damaged, the knife does not lose any of its usefulness and durability! You can then wrap the spindle around a string or even a piece of clothing to form an emergency handle. The head of the knife was deliberately pulled out by almost one centimeter behind the cover of the handle. It can be used as a glass breaker, an amphibian for undermining and an element with which, in extreme situations, we can hit practically any object without worrying about destroying the handle covers. It is a substitute for a survival hammer.

The scabbard is handmade in our workshop. Each is formed from Kydex on the knife and is assigned to it. It provides several possibilities of transporting the knife -as a standard on the belt in the lowered original system, alternatively mounting the Teklok clasp, MALICE clips or BlateTECH clips to the holes on the edge of the scabbard.

The set includes an element lowering the assembly of the knife with a nylon clip, thanks to which the knife can be carried on the belt muchmore comfortable than in the case of classic solutions. The clip-frog is detachable and allows you to mount the knife on the belt without unfastening it.

The scabbard itself protects the knife against any mechanical damage and is so profiled that the knife does not need any additional protection against spontaneous falling out. After all, it's a processing knife -it can't fall out while you're flipping the goats down the slope.

On the scabbard, there is a handle to carry the flint. The handle can be removed by unscrewing the screws. All threads are protected by a special preparation that guarantees that none of the screws will unscrew during use and that you will not lose the quilting.

For more demanding customers we offer a version with a hybrid scabbard made of leather and Kydex. It is an original, unique scabbard of Mariusz "Tlima" Przybyłowski.

My name is Mariusz "Tlim" Przybyłowski.

For a few years now I have been dealing with manual production of knives.
Initially, it was purely hobbyistic, but after a few years, my passion turned into the
main professional activity handicraft production of knives.

In the beginning, the main center of my interest was damask steel. At that time most
of my knives were forged, most of them were damask knives, mainly hunting knives
fra med with natural materials such as wood, leather or antlers.
Today, apart from hunting knives and damask knives, in my studio tactical knives,
collector's knives, survival knives such as bushcraft or nesssmuk are also made.
Apart from damask and carbon ste el, some of my knives are made of high alloyed
stainless steel. Sometimes I use protective coatings on the blades like hard chrome. I
make knife handles not only from wood or antlers but also from synthetic materials
such as micarta or G10 „Toxic” knives

At all times I try to develop not only the pool of materials from which I make knives,
but also work on the workshop and expanding my knowledge.

I take the stage of steel preparation and heat treatment very seriously. I am
systematically deepening my k nowledge in this area. In the past, I used to harden
and tempered steel for knives, today I precede hardening with other heat treatment
processes. Steel is subject to processes of structural optimization removal of
carbide nets, grain reduction. The blad es are normalized, spheroidized, before
grinding and annealing afterward, then hardened and tempered. For some time
now, part of the blade, especially for bushcraft knives, are hardened to bainite,
which gives additional blade strength, so needed for a kni fe in the field or a knife
designed for survival.

Each blade undergoes a multi
cyclical heat and mechanical treatment, which makes
the finished product not only aesthetic but also fully functional.
